Susan Hoblit
President
After almost 24 years in Multi-family & Mixed Use Real Estate Development, Management and Marketing the opportunity to enter the Flooring Industry in 2006 was a welcome change and a definite challenge. The process involved to realize a successful flooring project is so complex; product knowledge, estimating, contract review, project management, schedule planning, floor preparation, installation, field supervision, moisture issues and trade coordination – believe me “It’s not JUST flooring”! As a member of the Starnet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Partnership education and experience is a priority. A priority I and my team take full advantage of.
Not unlike real estate, the flooring industry is never boring or stagnant, we not only learn something new every day; some days we learn numerous lessons. I take these lessons and make every effort to convert them into policies and procedures that ultimately protect the future of Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc., our contracting clients and of course the end-users who have invested thousands of dollars, hours of time, blood, sweat and tears to assure they are creating an appropriate impression in the environment in which they do their business.
The remaining founder of Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc. has a strong desire to ensure his company and over 50 years of hard work successfully transitions long into the future. He graciously offered key staff members the ability to take the helm and become Shareholders. As a Shareholder & General Manager of the group I take the responsibility seriously and with a great deal of honor. Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc. has a loyal, dedicated and professional team that genuinely cares about each of our clients and our reputation. I sincerely enjoy negotiating contracts, working with General Contractors and their end-users and explaining our philosophy of “We would rather say no and walk away than to perform work that we can’t be proud of, or isn’t in the best interest of the development team”…hence our motto “We Stand on Quality”. We look forward to working with you.
Rachel Christ
Contract Administrator
After graduating from Eller College of Management in 2005 with a BS in Business Management, I have acquired skills in many different areas leading me to my role as Contract Admin at TCC. I joined the team in 2018 and am so happy to have landed in a company with such a hard-working, dynamic, funny group of people!
As Contract Admin, my primary role is to thoroughly read and make necessary edits to contracts to ensure all projects are successful for TCC, the GC/Client and most importantly, the End User. Additional roles include supporting my four Project Manager’s with their submittals, SDS books and close out documents, OSHA, pre-qualifications, insurance requirements, preliminary notice of liens and providing safety training to the TCC Installation Teams.
I absolutely adore my 3 cats, enjoy my backyard and working in my garden, swimming laps, yoga, cooking and of course wine!
Gary Hurd
Field Supervisor
After years of installing various flooring materials in Ohio and enduring long winters an opportunity to move West was welcomed, so along with my family I was happy to call Tucson home! From 2007 to 2009 I enjoyed a Field Supervisor postion at Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc. Although I loved installing and the true feeling of accomplishment when an installation was complete, Field Supervision allowed over-seeing commercial installations and coordinating site requirements with General Contractors and the ability to get "off my knees"!
Gary Roberts
Vice President/Sr. Project Manager
Gary Roberts joined Tucson Commercial Carpet in 2003 as a Project Manager and promoted to Vice President in 2011. He began his journey in the flooring business by moving to Dalton, Georgia and learning how various flooring materials were designed, engineered, and manufactured. He quickly found his flooring legs, comfort zone, and earned the trust of many local and regional General Contractors, Architects, Building Owners, Property Managers, and Healthcare Facilities. He is a proud and active member of the Starnet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Partnership, has extensive experience with numerous flooring materials and installation specifications. Gary provides many industry resources to his clients, and sometimes even his competitors!
Several projects that Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc. and Gary are extremely proud of include:
UAMC – Diamond Children’s Center
Northwest Hospital Expansion
Ventana Medical Systems
Oro Valley Hospital
El Rio Congress Health Clinic
Tucson Jewish Community Center
Keith Abbott
Project Coordinator/Scheduler
My background with customer service, inventory, purchasing and family involvement in cabinet making and installation serves the experience required for the Purchasing/Scheduling position. Attention to detail and ability to remain calm, cool and collected in a somewhat stressful industry makes everyday a fun and challenging achievement!
I look forward to working with the many long-time, loyal and valued clients Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc. has formed relationships with since 1972.
Maria Santa Cruz
Project Manager
With over 23 years of experience in flooring I have made many long life friends & business associates in this challenging business. Every day and every job is different than the day before. You can say it’s an adventure to conquer! My educational background is interior design, so this adventure is perfectly suited to my aspiration to make an environment a place people want to be. Upon completion of my design degree I joined Tucson Commercial Carpet, Inc. and have happily never looked back!
Christina Zamora
Secretary/Treasurer - Accounting Manager
After graduating from the University of Arizona in late 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, I happened to come across an entry level accounting assistant position for a floor covering company. Eager to learn and acquire knowledge so I could move on and move up, I accepted the position and didn’t realize at that time I would be calling this place “Home!” I am part of a team like no other; the integrity, quality and professionalism we place on ourselves and technicians are something I am truly proud of.
